Here is my random junk...

1. I have a name fetish. When I have characters in stories, I always have to find them the perfect name, usually relating to some aspect of their personality (although how their parents’ would have known that, I have no idea.) I can recite the names of all my toys, from stuffed animal, to Barbie dolls, to my huge My Little Pony and Grand Champions collections. Even when I was young, I went around and named all the trees in my yard. And now Behindthename.com is my best friend.

2. Have you ever seen any of the old Godzilla movies with the golden, three-headed dragon called Ghidorah (sometimes called King Ghidorah or Monster Zero)? I know it’s supposed to be a he, but I was convinced that it was a she, and when I was young, she would sleep on the roof of our house at night with her wings wrapped around it to protect us. I even had a spaceship shaped like her called the Ghidorah II.

3. I tend to be a paper packrat. I still have old school papers from middle school, even a few from home school. I hate throwing anything away because you never know when someone might need them. I have helped my friends on numerous occasions with the aid of old school notes.

4. I’ve always been a good swimmer and love running water of any kind. Mom called me a fish after we went to the ocean and I refused to get out of the near-freezing water despite the fact that my lips had turned blue.

5. I rarely have strong opinions about anything and therefore hate verbal debates and avoid controversial issues because I’m expected to have an opinion when I really don’t care and couldn’t articulate my stance even if I had one. Most people don’t believe me when I say that I genuinely don’t care, thinking that I’m just being polite.

6. I want to learn to play the psaltry. It’s one of the few instruments I think I can be good at, considering I’m missing most of two fingers on my left hand.

7. I used to think that tobacco was like a chewy caramel candy like Nips, but exclusively for grownups that would give you throat cancer if you chewed it too long. I figured that the reason people chewed it was because it was like a caramel candy. Then Dad told me that it’s actually dried leaves and I now wonder why anyone would want to chew something that disgusting.

8. I’ve only recently opened up to watching anime over the internet, feeling that it wasn’t quite right. My feeling was that TV should be watching on the TV, not on a computer screen. However, due to my increasing obsession, I am more willing to try out this new line of media. (I also want a bumper sticker that says “ANIME-iac!” in honor of a YouTube video my little brother showed me which describes those of us who like anime to a T!)
