EDIT on November 4th:

:iconzoestead: got laid off from her job and will have to find a new one, hopefully before her current job ends in December. Now, since she's in Britain it'll be a little hard for those of us in the U.S. to find her a new job, but if there is any international or online work you can find, please note her at [link] You can also read her journal "It's Official" [link] for further information. Pass this message on to anyone you think might be able to help or could pass it on to a more prominant position.

Zoe's book "The Amulet of Vichalace" is available on both the British and U.S. Amazon sites. Check it out! Support fledgling authors!

Hello all!

Figured I'd give a heads up for anyone who happens to be watching me on dA:

I will be flooding your inboxes for the next couple of weeks (or perhaps days) with poems.

I've decided that Deviantart is perhaps the best place for artistic expression, both visual and literary. I have some poetry on Myspace, on Facebook, and Share Your Gifts, but I want as much as possible placed on Deviantart so more people will be able to enjoy them.

Some of the poems that I post now will later be turned into visual poems, or poems with some kind of background, generally a photograph, that helps add to the emotional impact or helps convey the story. If a poem was inspired by a picture, I try to include that with the poem.

Share Your Gifts (www.shareyourgifts.net) will have all of my poems, good, mediocre, and bad, but I want to have dA's portfolio be a little more selective. I have written over 100 poems, so the poems I pick will hopefully follow these guidelines or fall into one or more of these categories:

1) It is a very well-written or beautifully expressed poem. While I strive for this in all my work, there will naturally be some poems that may not have much emotional content, but are well-crafted and/or good examples of a type.

2) It holds special meaning or emotional content. There are plenty of my more recent poems that are not exactly the most articially pleasing, but they pack an emotional punch, so I'll include them. Some are of a very personal nature, but if you have any questions about where a poem came from or why I chose it, feel free to ask. I'm always more open on the 'Net.

3) It's a gift for someone, was created as a request, or is just plain cute or amusing. If anyone wants me to write a poem for them or for someone they know, give me a heads up and some info on the person or occassion and I'll write one. Plus I've got a few poems that are just cute or funny and I'd like to share.

Hope you will enjoy them!

Please note that these poems are my own creation and I do not want to see anyone using them for something without my permission or claiming that they wrote them. I have the looseleaf or post-it-note originals to prove my claim, so don't even think about it. I shouldn't have to say it, but I will anyway, just for posterity.

I am enjoying them so far Katana.

*grin* I'm glad! I've been cataloging them and posting at least seven a day these past few days...and there are so many more to come! I have 132 poems (that I could find in some form or another) but you can breathe a little easier because I won't be posting all of them, only the ones that I think are suitable for dA (as in, they don't suck.) ;-)

Thanks again for reading! I appreciate it!

No problem. What about those dragon dagger photos?
:iconstarsister12:
*reels* I'm sorry, I keep forgetting to get them scanned...Richard killed my computer (not the info, that is safe) so now I'm using my mom's computer and the scanner isn't hooked up and the scanner at my parents' house is acting screwy (Vista = evilness) so I have no idea when I'll be able to get those to you so you can post them. Being feverish doesn't help my mental concentration at all. Just send me reminders periodically; I will try not to forget again.

IT is okay. Thought I would ask about them. Sorry about your computer. If I can do anything for you just let me know okay? And if you want I can come down and help make it next month.
:iconstarsister12:
Make what? Mom and Richard are going to find me a new computer as soon as we get some money together, so we're not making a new comp...

As to next month, I'd have to see what's going on. I'm rarely at home anymore, always running to work, school, etc. I can't plan very far ahead, but we shall see!

Make the new computer. You know like help you select a good video and sound card, a nice big Hard Drive for all of your stuff. (with space left over.) And I am talking around Thanksgiving. Maybe we can hang out then.
